The New Yorker: Fact: "The problem with the way the U.S. has been fighting the Baathist leadership, he said, is �(a) we�ve got no intelligence, and (b) we�re too squeamish to operate in this part of the world.� Referring to the American retaliation against a suspected mortar site, the former official said, �Instead of destroying an empty soccer field, why not impress me by sneaking in a sniper team and killing them while they�re setting up a mortar? We do need a more unconventional response, but it�s going to be messy.�"
